7.3.3.1 Basic Speciﬁcations of SIDM Fonts

(1) The following fonts are used:

Font Point Pitch Mode

Courier (Medium, Bold, Italic, Bold Italic) 12 10 10CPI, Proportional, Super/Subscrippt

Courier (Medium, Bold, Italic, Bold Italic) 10 12 12CPI, Super/Subsucript

Courier (Medium, Bold, Italic, Bold Italic) 8.5 16.5 17.1CPI, Super/Subscript

Courier (Medium, Bold, Italic, Bold Italic) 6 20 20CPI, Super/Subsucript

(2) Support for vertical enlargement and horizontal enlargement is included.

(3) Bold fonts are used for vertically emphasized printing.

(4) Print pitches conform to speciﬁed pitches.

Example) At print pitch = 10 CPI, in superscript mode, 10-CPI printing is performed (16.6

CPI is ignored).

(5) Fonts in draft and LQ (Letter Quality) modes are handled in the same way.

(6) Font cards are not supported.

7.3.3.2 Fonts Selected for SIDM

This section lists the correspondence between fonts and their character modiﬁcations in SIDM

emulation.

“Double Height” character modiﬁcations make the modiﬁcations of selected fonts by enlarging

them.

Some “Double Wide” character modiﬁcations enlarge selected fonts and others (those indi-

cated with a mark ) use under speciﬁcations selected fonts as enlarged characters.
